Alicia Allison, MS, NCC, LPC
Alicia Allison is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in psychotherapy with children, teenagers, adults and families. She received her Master’s of Science from Mercer University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and is trained extensively in Play Therapy and anxiety work.
Her expertise is in treating anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. Alicia is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a program developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center. The technique helps parents respond to their anxious child in supportive ways while also reducing accommodations to their child’s anxiety.
Her training and background supporting patients in crisis at a psychiatric inpatient facility and patients with chronic illness in the solid organ transplant community has given her extensive experience to use when working with clients struggling with depression, grief, childhood trauma, self-harming behaviors, and suicidal ideation.
In her freetime, Alicia likes to spend time with her teenage daughter and therapy dog “Oaggie”, a 1yr old Corgi. She loves to create art, explore nature and read a good mystery.
